Patch Note Version 11 Update

Hello Challengers!

Welcome to the new patch of Arena of Valor! Exciting updates are forthcoming and we would love to share the updates with you! Some of the updates include hero balance, system update and also a new lobby. Continue reading to find out more!

In conjunction with the next version update, there will be a game maintenance on the 14th of December 0700 +GMT 8. This is our largest version update so far, and we have a long list of content and adjustments that awaits you in the Arena!

In response to the community’s needs, we will be updating the AFK credibility system to better detect those who are AFK. For the gem hoarders or to those who are feeling lucky, we will also be opening the Lottery system. We have will also add new sharing features that will allow you to share your in-game moments and profile with your friends.

Skill 1: Flying Spear

Skill reworked:

Slimz throws a flying spear, dealing more damage and stuns for a longer duration based on distance travelled. At max range, the spear deals 300/400/500/600/700/800 ( +1.0AD ) magic damage and stuns the target for 2.5 seconds. Upon hitting an enemy, Slimz gains a 25% attack speed increase for 5 seconds. This bonus is doubled if the spear lands on an enemy hero.

03 Marksman Update

Yes, we heard you – Marksmen are in a bad state in the current meta. With the prevalence of CC and gap-closers from various Warriors and Assassins, most Marksmen are doomed during team fights once they are within melee range.

 

We are buffing all Marksmen’ base movement speed and attack range, so that they have better tools to deal with any hunters that come their way.

 

Base Stats Adjustments

Violet: Attack range increased from 620 → 675

Slimz: Attack range increased from 600 → 750, basic movement speed increased from 350 → 360

Yorn: Attack range increased from 660 → 750, passive range increased from 900 → 1100

Valhein: Attack range increased from 630 → 750, basic movement speed increased from 350 → 360

Fennik: Attack range increased from 660 → 750

Joker: Attack range increased from 630 → 750

 

Monster Buff Adjustment

Movement speed slows for the Might Golem’s buff has been buffed for ranged heroes, from 15% at all levels to 16% → 30% based on levels

Note 1: Melee heroes still apply a 30% slow at all levels when they have the Might Golem buff.

Note 2: The passive burn damage applied by ranged heroes is still halved.

 

04 Abyssal Dragon

In the current meta, the Abyssal Dragon is the most important map objective in the early game. While this creates an exciting environment for teamfights, the Abyssal Dragon has too much rewards loaded into it. Killing the Abyssal Dragon in the early game gives a tremendous lead, resulting in extremely high win-rates for teams that manage to secure the first Abyssal.

 

Having a team-fight oriented meta creates fun and exciting situations, but an early mistake and loss of Abyssal can often lead to irrecoverable snowballs. We are adjusting the risks and rewards of taking an early game Abyssal to prevent feast-or-famine outcomes of contesting them.

 

Stats Adjustment

Abyssal Dragon base experience reward:700 → 450 (scales up as the game progresses)

Abyssal Dragon base gold reward:100 → 80 (scales up as the game progresses)

Abyssal Dragon’s experience and gold reward scaling has been increased.

Abyssal Dragon’s HP before 10 minutes: 18000 → 27000

Abyssal Dragon’s ATK before 10 minutes: 459 → 612

Abyssal Dragon's HP and ATK growth rate has been doubled.

Abyssal Dragon’s XP rewards at 10 minutes: 800 → 900

Abyssal Dragon’s Gold rewards at 10 minutes:100 → 120

 

We have also improved the Abyssal Dragon AI – it now locks onto targets faster, making it easier for you to draw aggro and lure the dragon out of his den.


Lastly, we removed the two bushes near the dragon pit make it fairer for both sides to contest the dragon. (A similar change has also been made on the Dark Slayer’s spawn)

 

05 Towers Adjustments

In a pre-emptive response to the Marksman buffs, we are also buffing towers. The Marksman plays a unique role of being the only class that can take towers from a safe range, and we want to ensure that contesting towers still have the appropriate risks for all players.

 

Base Stats Adjustment

Defense Tower (1st tier) Attack Range: 775 → 830

Other Towers (2nd tier and 3rd tier) Attack Range:900 → 1010

 

Slowing Effect

3rd tier towers and the Nexus now applies a 30% slow for 1 second.

 

Dark Slayer Lane Towers

Towers in the Dark Slayer lane now has a buff for the first 3 minutes that reduces incoming damage by 30%. This is to prevent speed-pushing strategies from becoming overwhelmingly powerful in preparation for the early game rewards nerfs to the Abyssal Dragon.

 

Anti-backdoor Buffs

When no minions are nearby, all towers gain additional armor: Increased from 1000 → 1600/2000

 

06 Other Adjustments

  1. Global team gold rewards for killing the spirit sentinel reduced from 72 gold to 30 gold.

  2. Spirit Sentinel buff reworked: 1% max HP regen per second → 35 HP per second. Added new effect of 30 bonus movement speed.

  3. Seagle regeneration rate reduced by 75%, gold and XP rewards reduced by 50% in the first 4 minutes.

 


 

System Improvements

 

01 Credibility Scores

  1. Minimum credibility score required for ranked games have been increased from 85 to 90

  2. Minimum credibility score required for standard games have been increased from 60 to 70

  3. More points will now be deducted for AFK-ers

  4. Players who repeatedly abuse rules of the Arena and gets constantly reported will receive severe penalties, starting from 10 points per infraction

 

02 Social Features Improvement

  1. New Personalized Profiles: Your profile page will now contain more information, including preferred roles, common play times, location, and more! Perfect for sharing and for finding friends!


     

  2. Now, you will be able to search for friends based on preferred roles, common play times, and locations. Build your ideal team now and conquer the Arena!


     

  3. Improved Gold Gifting feature – When you have sufficiently high relationship levels with your friends, you can gift each other more gold coins, and you may even stand a chance to win Hero and Skin trial cards! Up to 3 friends can receive Improved Gifts each day.


     

  4. Improved Challengers Search: Now, just type only part of the person’s in-game name in order to find a player profile. Long gone are the days where you need to type full names!

 

03 Spectator Mode

  1. The UI will now include a notification whenever a player purchases a tier 3 item.

  2. HP and Talents cooldown will be added to the spectator’s sidebar UI

  3. Spectator view will be optimized for wider spectator angles.

 

04 Ranked Improvements

  1. The Ranked Games lobby will now show precisely when the current Ranked Season will end.


     

  2. Now, you may be able to win even more rewards when you reach higher ranks! Climb now and win exciting prizes, such as Magic Crystals!



     

  3. Optimized Matchmaking UI: In order to prevent exploiters from win-trading with recognized partners, players in higher ranked tiers will no longer be able to see the “Ready” status of other players. 

  4. The Ban/Pick modes will be added for matches ranked Diamond and above



     

  5. Ranked borders for Silver and Platinum players have been refined to better differentiate them in game

  6. Reworked Brave points system: Demotion protection now no longer activates whenever you have more than 0 brave points. A minimum amount of brave points is needed, with higher ranks requiring more points.

 

05 Matchmaker Improvements

 

  1. You will now be able to invite players from your previous game at the team-building lobby


     

  2. All players in the same team-building lobby needs to click “Ready” to be allowed to enter the matchmaking queue.

 

06 Game UI Improvements

  1. Loading UI has been improved to better display splash art and Rank borders

  2. Improved location of scoreboard for users with right-side quick buy placements.

 

07 Sharing Improvements

  1. Improved Favorites UI:  Favorites UI now displays information for all heroes you have used (previously limited to 10 max). For heroes that you have played more than 20 games with, you can now share your hero win-rate on Facebook and other platforms.

 

08 New Features

  1. Players can now prepare 3 different preset builds for each hero. You can also switch between the different builds for quick buy priority while in-game.



     

  2. New Gifting Feature: Players who have reached level 20 and above can now give and receive skins to each other.


     

  3. Players will now be able to declare and display their genders in player info.




     

  4. New streaming features: Players with high-end devices can directly cast and stream onto Facebook.

  5. New highlight feature – Moments of Valor: Players with high-end devices can now enable Moments of Valor, a new feature that will automatically record amazing plays from your game. You can also share your most memorable highlight reels onto Facebook!

 

09 Other Adjustments

 


 

  1. The Lottery will now be available! You can spin the Lottery once for every Magic Crystal that you own. Get Magic Crystals from events or the shop. Exciting and exclusive rewards await you in the Lottery. 



     

  2. Welcome Back rewards: Players who have left the game for some time will get a welcome package to celebrate your return ? Get your friends back into the game now!

  3. Improved matchmaking invitation in lobby chat – You can now set minimum rank and level requirements when sending out global invites through the chat. Players can also view the player IDs, ranks, levels, preferred roles, and win-rates of other players in the same room.



     

  4. Added batch delete feature for mail system

  5. New Lobby Christmas Theme – feel the festivities!


     

  6. Credibility and report system have been fine-tuned to better identify intentional feeders and AFK-ers, and will ensure they receive the appropriate punishment.

  7. Added endgame MVP voting – Players can vote for their favorite teammate at the end of each game. Thumbs up for big plays!



     

  8. Improved in-game browser speeds for Android devices.
